Welcome to Our School
Welcome to Blue Valley Montessori School in Overland Park, KS! My name is Kimberly Steinke and I am the Director here. I am very excited that you have taken an interest in our school!
Blue Valley Montessori is a culturally diverse school where children explore, develop and flourish at an individual pace. They develop a foundation in language, math, physical and cultural geography, botany, physical science, music and more. We have been proudly providing an authentic Montessori experience to the Overland Park area since 1999. All of our lead teachers are Montessori certified and each classroom has the full range of Montessori materials. Additionally, we provide the very best child care/daycare to local families.
Students range from 24 months to age 6. Our Toddler room ranges from 24 months to 36 months and our Primary classrooms range from 2.5 yrs old (potty-trained) to 6 years of age. Children are also invited to continue on with us, for their Kindergarten year. We strive to provide a loving and consistent environment for children with an emphasis on academic excellence. We have grown into a very close-knit community over the years.
The classrooms of Blue Valley Montessori School hum with sounds of happy children. Our family-style atmosphere and genuine appreciation for education sets us apart from other schools in the Johnson County area.
We're pleased to offer our families access to Montessori Compass. This online resource enables parents to receive updates about their child's school experiences and communicate with their teacher.
Our camera access, called "Watch Me Grow", will allow parents to live stream their child's day with us. Families enjoy having this insight to their child's school day.

Kimberly A. Steinke, Director
Education: Bachelor of Science, Behavioral Science Psychology from Concordia University Seward Nebraska
Certifications: AMI Montessori Certified
Before transitioning to the role of Director, I had the pleasure of serving as a Certified Montessori Teacher, for almost 27 years. Three years ago, I transitioned to the role of Director, here at BVM. It has been an honor to serve children and families in this capacity. Montessori education is a beautiful curriculum, that is impressive to see in action, as well as, inspiring! I invite you, to be apart of our family!

Education: Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State
Certifications: MEPI Certification
I have been a part of the Blue Valley Montessori family since 1999. I served first as a lead teacher for many years, and four years ago, I took on the roles of Assistant Director and School Educational Manager. I have two children, both who are graduates of Blue Valley Montessori (they are now 18 and 21 years old!) I truly believe in the Montessori Method of learning and am excited to help lead and assist your children to the love of learning.
